96 Days to Go
OK, so I went to the gym and did 5 miles. I didn't feel tired at all. I did want to quit a few times, but that's just because I am lazy. I felt good, my heart rate just went up to 153. Which was good for me. I will try and do that all week. Then I will go up to 6 miles a week starting this weekend and see how this works out. I think I might need some new running shoes. I also need a massage. Ankles and legs are getting a little sore.

September 29
Ok I did 5 miles but I realize I can't do 5 miles at the same speed I was doing 3 miles at. I will burn my self out. So I slowed it down and did the entire 5 miles.
Work out in the morning to get back on my pace.

Ok- so I went to the gym. The new goal is 5 miles a day for at least four days a week. I have to get ready to take on a bigger challenge.
I slept in and went to the gym late. I only did 4 miles and stop 2 times to catch my breathe- wow. But I am in bed by midnight and I will try again in the morning.
Good night.

100 days to go.

I finish the race. I did a great job, it was crowded in the beginning but I finish it off strong! We on our way to greatness. I am going to do this run again next year. Even if you dont run (because you can walk, its only 3 miles) you should do this race/walk.
Like I said, it was real emotional because of the 9/11 attachments to this race. I had a small race team. 4 people, but next year my goal is to run or walk with at least 100 people.
To see more photos from this event, go to the Gone 2 Soon web site and go to calender and pull up todays event. With a 100 days to go I am getting closer to my goal

September 26
Ok- so its pre day of another big race. No partying or drinking for me. I am focus. Its a short race but I still want to do good.
Strong start and powerful finish. Plus its a tribute to 9/11 heroes. So that's special and emotional to me. Being that I am a real true New Yorker the Twin Towers are more than just buildings to me. I grow up in Brooklyn NY and from the corner of my block I could always see the towers. Twin Towers is my Twin Big Brothers.
So I am up and ready for this race. I lost a lot of friends on that day. So I might even tear up.

Ok so I woke up this morning less than 8 hours after my last run. My back is hurting, my knees are asking me what I am doing am my legs feel like I got bricks in my pants. Despite all of that I still made my way to the gym.
I got on the trend mill and started telling myself, Ok I will only do half of what I am suppose to do. Then I start running and all the pain went away when I started to think about my goals.
So I finish out my run successful. 4 more miles and straight to the Whirlpool. Oh boy was my body in and pain and in need of the water.
Early to bed for me tonight, I guest after this run this weekend, I am going to a massage parlor. Hopefully somebody will give me a pass to there favorite massage parlor. Please do, email me at CEO@Gone2SoonFoundation.org

OK so I am back in the gym working hard. Since I have the "Tunnel to Towers Run" this Sunday at 9:30 in the morning. I decide to practice by doing the entire run plus more everyday. I will not hit the wall or slow down this time. I plan on running the entire race. The race is only 3.1 miles so I am doing a 4 mile run everyday. Now I say I would slowly work myself backing into running condition but I scratch all of that and jump in face first.
My heart rate was the highest to date so far 175. I did the run in about 40 minutes but I went over 4 miles. I choose to run at night because I had a busy day. I will convert back to my mornings tomorrow, which will make for a rougher run because its so early and not a lot of rest time in between. I have to do this, to stay focus and get ready.
My back was sore and I didn't hit the whirlpool after I left the gym, but I did watch Monday Night football while I was running. That boy Peyton Manning is a bonafide Superstar.

September 18
So as you know, I lost some focus and I am working to get back in shape.
So I worked out on Wednesday and did 20 minutes only and I promise to work out every day until I got my wind back.
So you want to know what happen yesterday. I know, you think I am not serious or I am getting lazy again. No that's not what it is. I had an Allergy cold. So instead of risk be out for a long time because I would be sick. I decide to take a days rest to take care of myself and get back on track.
So today, I hit the fresh air streets and ran 25 minutes straight no stopping, even the times I almost got hit by a car.
I did feel tired and out of breathe. But I think that's a mix of getting back in shape and shaking off my nasty cold.
So I am back on track! I told you before I am focus- I have a big goal. And we going to reach it!

September 16- slight set back..
So first time I ran since partying all week. Shame on me!
I was up to almost an hour on the trend mill non-stop. I got on there today and only could do 20 minutes for 2.4 miles.
I stop because my heart rate was 157 and I felt stiffness in my knees.
I figure I got a lot of training left! So I stop and went to the hot tub. But I will be back tomorrow and the next day. I am going to add 4 minutes extra and hopefully I be back to where I was in a week or so.
Also back to my strict diet. I ate french fries and a kinish and drunk soda. Then ate mac & cheese and Capt n Crunch for Dinner.
I knew better, I just got to get focus again.
I will! To much on the line, not to be...

Rest time is over, now its time to get back to work
I enjoy Saturday run, and I party enough. I have a long way to go and its time for me to hit the gym and get back to getting into shape. So tomorrow I am back in the Gym... I need to improve in a lot of areas.

My first race is in the books.
I finish my first race ever. I showed up late. I did however do 4 miles in 38 minutes. Which is pretty decent. I stop and walk a few times. The trend Mill is different than the regular street.
I still think I am a lazy runner. I have to practice a whole lot more.
The I-pod help- I just have to put up tempo songs in a roll.
So when I cross the finish line I seen about 70-80 people waiting clapping and cheering me on. I was over whelm to see all my fans, but then I turn around and seen a kid who had to be 11 years old. It was his family and friends.
Well stay close and check in on me. I am looking for a partner to run with. If you are interested email me.

1st race
I am on my way to my first race. I would of like to get up extra early but with the celebrating last night, I didn't get much sleep.
But I am ready. I ate a half of bowl of oatmeal. Now its time to jump in my car and race to the race before I get there late!

Pre Day before my first Race.
First off I want to do something Special its September 11. I am a New Yorker so this is a touchy subject for me.
Now every body says you suppose to rest the day before. But I did a small run earlier today (2.5 miles) and a little bike run (1 mile)
I took a nap, watch Jay-Z concert.
And hit the streets, drinking Champagne celebrating the life's of all the people we lost 9/11/01.
"Gone but Never forgotten". Or how I would say "Gone 2 Soon"
I did eat a square meal and if it was any other day. I would of been sleep around 9 pm the latest.
But as I said before I am doing something to celebrate all the people that have "Gone 2 Soon"

Sept 8
I did a light run today. It feels like I was hitting the wall. So I only ran for about 25 minutes and did 2.5 miles. My heart rate shot up to 164 at one point.
I think I need to start using vitamins. Any body has any idea what I should start using.

My first warm up race
So I decide to enter myself into a few races before the big marathon. This way I can be ready and know what to expect when I go out to run.
So I am running in the Mind, Body & Spirit Fitness race. Saturday Sept 12 in New York City.
Its only 4 miles and I do more than that on a daily basic. But I never ran in a real race before so I am excited!

Working out Hard
Today I decide to ride my bicycle for a few miles. I am getting off my feet. I also realize since I never ran, I need to make up a plan to get ready for the Marathon. So I am running to reach a time goal not a distance goal. I am going to have to run about 4 hours any way.
Let's see how my new idea works.
